In response to rising cases of online gambling fraud, Bangladesh has launched a dedicated cybercrime task force. The new unit is focused on identifying digital betting platforms, tracing money flows, and arresting those involved in illegal gambling networks.
The task force includes cyber analysts, law enforcement agents, and financial intelligence officers. They are actively tracking suspicious websites and social media ads promoting gambling schemes.
Initial operations have already led to the takedown of several payment accounts and the arrest of 14 individuals linked to illegal betting platforms.
Officials say the unit will also engage in public awareness campaigns to warn citizens about the risks of online gambling and how to spot fraudulent websites.
