Investigators in both India and Bangladesh have discovered a network of illegal call centers supporting online gambling scams. These centers provide customer support for betting platforms, assist in payment processing, and even lure users with scripted sales pitches.
Many employees are unaware they are promoting illegal activities, believing they’re working for legitimate online gaming companies. The call centers are often disguised as tech firms and operate mostly at night to target foreign gamblers.
Authorities are raiding facilities and urging job seekers to verify the legitimacy of online employers. Several arrests have been made, with more under investigation.
