In a significant move to address the growing concern of space debris, Japanese firm Astroscale has partnered with Indian companies Digantara and Bellatrix Aerospace. This collaboration aims to develop technologies and services for effective space debris management, with plans to bid for orbital service contracts for Indian clients within the next one to two years. This initiative marks Astroscale’s first operation in the Asia-Pacific region outside Japan. The partnership aligns with India’s recent policy liberalizations encouraging private sector participation in the space industry. By combining Astroscale’s expertise in debris removal with Digantara’s space situational awareness and Bellatrix’s propulsion systems, the collaboration aims to offer comprehensive solutions for sustainable space operations.
