Students Targeted by Illegal Betting Apps in Bangladesh

Bangladeshi authorities are sounding the alarm as a growing number of students fall victim to illegal betting applications. These apps, often disguised as harmless games, promote real-money gambling through social media and encrypted chats. The Digital Security Agency reports a 40% increase in gambling-related activity among students aged 16 to 25. Schools and colleges have begun awareness sessions to educate youth on the risks of online betting. Parents are also urged to monitor mobile usage and report suspicious financial behavior. The government is pushing for a digital literacy campaign to prevent further exploitation.
