Illegal Indian gambling apps are flooding the Bangladeshi digital market, offering fake bonuses and misleading advertisements to lure users. Once users sign up, the apps collect deposits and often vanish overnight.
Most of these apps operate without licenses and are hosted on offshore servers. They use influencers on Facebook and YouTube to promote unrealistic wins and fake testimonials. Some even offer users extra rewards for inviting friends, triggering pyramid-style expansion.
Victims report that after initial small wins, their accounts are locked or their balances mysteriously disappear. There is little legal recourse, as these apps are often out of jurisdiction.
Cyber experts urge users to avoid betting platforms not approved by local regulators and to report fraudulent apps to tech authorities immediately.
