Google has removed dozens of gambling-related apps from the Play Store after receiving reports of policy violations and financial fraud in South Asia. Many of these apps offered sports betting, slot machines, or live casino options under false categories.
In Bangladesh, users often installed these apps believing they were legal games. Some apps required high minimum deposits and offered no withdrawal support.
Google stated that it will enhance app vetting processes and work with local regulators to prevent re-uploads under new developer names.
