Many mobile games popular among Bangladeshi children now include gambling-like elements such as loot boxes, spinning wheels, and real-money rewards. These features mimic casino mechanics and are being linked to early-stage gambling addiction.
Children use their parents’ phones to access these games and often make in-game purchases using linked mobile wallets. Some games directly offer “real money” if a user wins a level.
Authorities are being urged to classify such mechanics as gambling and to enforce age restrictions. Parental awareness remains low, and financial exploitation of children is rising.
