Police in Dhaka have uncovered an underground gambling network led by tech-savvy college dropouts. The group created multiple mobile apps offering casino-style games and sports betting disguised as entertainment.
These apps, hosted on foreign servers, handled thousands of daily transactions through masked UPI accounts and fake KYC wallets. The group also employed fake customer service teams to reassure users and delay withdrawals.
Officials seized over 50 mobile phones and laptops during the raid. Authorities are warning students against involvement in such illegal activities under the guise of tech entrepreneurship.
