Hundreds of Facebook groups are now being used to promote gambling platforms in Bangladesh. These groups promise rewards for referrals but often operate as scams, stealing deposits and referral earnings.
Users are asked to bring in friends or family to receive “referral commissions,” but once new users join and deposit money, the admins vanish or block members. Some groups even simulate fake payouts to appear trustworthy.
Facebook has taken action to remove several such groups, but the numbers keep growing. Cyber Police encourage users to report gambling-related groups and avoid clicking on betting links shared via social media.
