Authorities in Nepal have discovered underground call centers in Kathmandu and Pokhara that run operations for betting and scam sites targeting users in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
These centers often operate at night and employ dozens of workers who pose as support staff, influencers, or social media marketers. They create Telegram groups, run WhatsApp ads, and manipulate users into joining betting schemes.
Several arrests have been made and equipment seized. Nepalese authorities are now working with neighboring countries to dismantle cross-border gambling operations run through fake call centers.
