In a major move against digital fraud, Bangladesh’s telecom regulators have blocked over 700 gambling websites operating through local ISPs. These domains included online casinos, sports betting platforms, and gaming apps disguised as e-wallets.
The crackdown was initiated after rising public concern over youth gambling and financial fraud. ISPs were ordered to enforce immediate DNS-level blocking and monitor new gambling domains appearing through mirror links.
Authorities say the effort will continue, with the focus expanding to mobile apps and gambling Telegram groups. Users are encouraged to report any gambling activity they come across online.
