Once inside, users are urged to gamble on games they cannot win. Some recruiters use fake profiles with attractive photos and pretend to be success stories to build trust.
Law enforcement is monitoring social media platforms and advising Instagram users not to engage with unsolicited DMs promoting investment or betting opportunities. Schools are also being urged to educate teens on digital scams.
