Fake Instagram Contests Redirect to Gambling Platforms

Across South Asia, fake giveaways are flooding Instagram. Pages promise smartphones, cash, or gift cards to those who “register” through external links. These links lead users directly to gambling platforms, not real contests.

Fraudsters build trust by using stolen photos and fake engagement bots. Once users sign up and deposit money, winnings never come.

Instagram has removed hundreds of such accounts, but new pages appear daily. Digital safety experts recommend avoiding any contest that requires external registration or payment.
